The rhetoric and calls for violence leading up to January 6th pale in comparison to what the right has been spewing over the last 24 hours.
If you haven’t had the chance to turn on the news or scroll through social media in the last 24 hours, you may have missed the epic meltdown the right is having. Yesterday, the FBI raided Donald Trump’s Mar-A-Lago home in Florida in search of classified documents, which he stole from the White House upon his departure.
Back in February, it was reported that the documents Trump stole had the highest level of security clearance, meaning only a select few in the government could view them.
The documents were so top secret that they couldn’t even be listed on the inventory of retrieved documents when the National Archives took them back from Mar-A-Lago earlier this year.
Why would Trump have stolen classified documents, anyway?
Americans should be highly concerned that Trump may have been selling America’s classified secrets to our enemies.
Republicans don’t care, though. Half of them are in bed with Russia. Many of them participated in a seditious conspiracy in January 2021 and were never held accountable.
When there aren’t consequences for treason, the treason will continue, escalate, and worsen. That’s what we’re seeing right now.
Current Republican elected officials and influencers are calling for war and violence against the Federal Government. Just as they did leading up to January 6. Except for this time, they’ve ratcheted it up.
Important to point out that it’s not just random social media users calling for civil war and inciting violent anti-government fervor in response to the FBI raid — it’s also coming from elected Republicans and influential right-wing media figures.
The danger of this shows that Republicans learned nothing from January 6.
It is SERIOUSLY time to invoke Amendment XIV, Section 3 on a whole lot of pro-sedition government officials, specifically under the “aid and comfort” clause. They’re defending a criminal and using the situation to justify violence. Party over country.
The FBI and DOJ need to take those calling for violence and civil war seriously and fast. We didn’t do that earlier after the 2020 election, and January 6 happened.
There’s a term for calling for a Civil War to overthrow the government: treason.
While the epic meltdown the right is having is humourous because they’re blowing their lids so that a criminal may be held accountable, it also should be taken seriously.
Many of the Domestic Terrorists who committed the January 6 are under federal indictment or in jail, it’s unlikely that any groups are organized and ready to commit immediate violence.
However, now is the time to be aware of the “lone wolf.” Derranged Republicans who are willing to commit violence in support of Trump not being held responsible for his crimes.
Political violence and mass shootings will probably take place in the name of Trump in the near future and leading up to the election.
According to Vice, MAGA, QAnon, and far-right message boards and Telegram channels lit up Monday night with calls for a violent response to what some extremists see as a political attack directed by the Biden administration.Â
Voting these people out of office is now more important than ever. Republicans don’t only want to destroy our country, they want to harm and, in many cases, even kill people who don’t look or think like them.
The seriousness and danger of this time in our country cannot be understated.
