Minutes after neo-Nazi autocrat Viktor Orban leaves the CPAC stage, Dan Patrick appears and gives a batshit crazy speech.
Just when you thought Dan Patrick couldn’t go any further off the deep end, he finds an opportunity to prove you wrong. You can find his entire speech HERE. But y’all need to see the most mind-boggling moments.
Did God write the Constitution? Did he say that? Yes, he did. Here are his exact words:
“We are a nation founded upon, not the words of our founders, but the words of God, because he wrote the Constitution. He empowered them. We were a Christian State, and we’ve been blessed for that for so many years.”
What in the evangelical, hillbilly hoedown is he talking about?
Using Dan Patrick’s logic, the Constitution said enslaved people were only 3/5ths of a person, so he’s saying that God said Black people are not whole human beings.
And the fugitive slave clause existed within the original Constitution. But, according to Dan Patrick, it wasn’t slave-owning white men who wrote that. Nope. It was God.
It’s not a secret that the Constitution was founded on slavery and a commitment to racial inequality.
It sounds like Dan Patrick is insinuating that God is a white supremacist.
The truth is many of the founding fathers—Washington, Jefferson, Franklin, Madison, and Monroe—practiced a faith called Deism. Deism is a philosophical belief in human reason as a reliable means of solving social and political problems. Deists believe in a supreme being who created the universe to operate solely by natural laws—and after creation, is absent from the world.
This belief in reason over dogma helped guide the founders toward a system of government that respected faiths like Christianity while purposely isolating both from encroaching on one another so as not to dilute the overall purpose and objectives of either.
Despite what Dan Patrick says or thinks, the Constitution was written by men.
That wasn’t the worst of it.
Dan Patrick talked about how they are in a spiritual battle, not between Republicans and Democrats, but between lightness and darkness. And then told the audience that Democrats didn’t want God in government.
Dan Patrick, who believes God was a white supremacist, calls Democrats “dark” (a.k.a. evil) for believing in racial equality.
This is not Christianity, and most people recognize it regardless of their religion. However, for those who don’t, I refer you to 2 Corinthians 11:13-15. For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So it is no surprise if his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds.

His words exactly:
“We’re not for guns because we like guns. But we do. I mean, I got a lot of them. But we’re for them because we know that’s what protects us from tyranny of the government.”
It makes you wonder if Dan Patrick has ever looked up the definition of “tyranny.” Tyranny is a cruel and oppressive government or rule.
It was cruel when Dan Patrick said grandparents should sacrifice themselves for the sake of the economy. It’s cruel that Dan Patrick has repeatedly blocked the expansion of healthcare in Texas. And oppression? Voting rights, LGBTQ rights, women’s rights, economic rights? Oppression is Dan Patrick’s middle name.
Dan Patrick is a tyrant. And believes every Tom, Dick, and Harry should have AR15s to protect themselves from tyrants. The irony is astounding.
It’s time to make Dan Patrick irrelevant.
