Featuring Highland Lakes Chef Becca Schafer
The Burnet County Democratic Club announces its virtual summer fundraiser with a silent auction and cooking class with Chef Becca Schafer on June 17, 2021.
“This will be really cool event that you will not want to miss,” said fundraising organizer and BCDC secretary Cindy Dashnaw. “We have so many really great items and experiences for the silent auction, such as a mountain-top vacation getaway in New Mexico, an expert-guided fishing trip, or a complete CBD wellness basket. We will also offer several types of professional services for your business, home, or hobby.”
The auction will culminate with a virtual cooking class with Food Network, and award-winning Chef Becca Schaffer lives via Zoom in your own kitchen. You can join in while Chef Schafer instructs you and several of your virtual friends on how to prepare and serve Pasta Carbonara with Pancetta with Bread and Herbed Compound Butter.
“This is such an exciting way to wind down our fundraiser,” said BCDC board member and event organizer Kishia Turland. “You’ll laugh, you’ll taste, you’ll be so proud of the dish you create during this unique
opportunity to get live, one-on-one instruction from the incomparable and entertaining Chef Becca!”
The chef has catered for and been a featured guest judge for Food Network. She’s also won first and second places at the Horseshoe Bay Resort’s Wine, Dine & Jazz festival and has served many distinguished and celebrity guests. Tickets for the cooking class are available now at www.bcdctx.org/gala. Auction items will be available for preview beginning Friday, May 7, 2021, at the same site. The silent
auction begins Sunday, June 7, and ends at midnight on Thursday, June 17. The winners will be announced once the BCDC fundraising committee verifies the bids.
Follow BCDCTX on Twitter and Instagram and visit bcdctx.org for membership and auction information. The BCDCTX general membership meets monthly via Zoom. The meetings are open to anyone who supports Democratic ideals. All fundraising proceeds benefit BCDCTX.
